I got 99 small biz problems, but my website ain’t one!
I'll take a wild guess and say that if you're on my website than you are either a bad-ass entrepreneur, ready to claim your place in the world of online business, or! You're a small business owner, ready to take your online presence to the next level. Whichever you are, it's perfect! Because you're just my type [#winkyface].
Regardless of what type of business you have, the key to marketing success is getting in front of your ideal customer. So where do you think they might be hanging out? If you said, with their noses glued to their phones, you'd be right!
With over 5 billion mobile phone users world-wide it's easy to see where it is that people are focusing their attention these days, and I promise you it's not on those over-priced black & white business ads in the weekend paper.
So, by taking the time to invest in a well-defined online presence along with having a kick-ass content marketing strategy, you are able to put your businesses products and/or services right where your ideal client is already looking. Pretty cool, right?
Now all of that probably sounds great in theory but when you start hearing things like web hosting, SEO, CSS, site mapping, I get that can be super overwhelming. So how do you create this so called 'well-defined, online presence' when you have no idea where to start? Simple. You don't! I do.
Who the heck am I? Well..
I’m Teri-Ann. A few years ago I was working fly in fly out [FIFO] in the Queensland Gas Fields and it was around this time that I started taking notice of the rise in online businesses. The more I researched, the more I knew that it was what I wanted to be doing. I was over working 12-15 hour days and being away from my family and friends for 2 weeks at a time. My biggest struggle? Trying to figure out what I had to offer!
After leaving the FIFO life and coming home for good, I started many small business ventures but none of them stuck, my passion just wasn't there. After my fourth non-starter of a business idea came and went I decided that I needed to focus on my passions, my interest and what I had to offer through them. It got me thinking about all my previous business attempts and the one thing they had in common.. I had designed some pretty damn-good websites for each and every one of them!
Without even realising it I had been learning, practicing and honing my skills in website design. I had to bootstrap it with my businesses and needed to design all the sites myself, which I did but at a cost of hours upon hours of researching, watching tutorials, reading blog posts, trying out different hosting sites until I felt like I had it figured out.
Who knew that my true passion was right there in front of me the whole time!
